Lighthouse Silhouette

Ohio and lighthouses may seem an unlikely couple, but along the north coast of the state, which borders Lake Erie, several can still be found. One of the most popular is the Marblehead (OH) Lighthouse—which is the subject of this project.
I prefer using 3/4″ hardwoods, usually white ash or red or white oak, but a variety of woods (including plywood) can be used. The thickness of the project is also a personal choice, although I wouldn’t use woods any thinner than 1/2″ or thicker than 1″.
MATERIALS:
Wood: 1/2″ (13mm) – 3/4″ (19mm) x 8 1/2″ (216mm) x 10 1/2″ (267mm)
Sandpaper, 120, 180, and 220 grits
Spray adhesive, temporary-bond
Finish of choice
Saw-tooth hanger
TOOLS:
Blades of choice (I use a #5 reverse-tooth blade for the entire project)
Drill press with small-diameter drill bit
