Creating Custom Chalkboards
Use specialty paints to make attractive and functional designs
Every family needs a place, like a chalkboard to write notes to each other; here are a few ideas to get you started. In Scroll Saw Woodworking & Crafts Fall 2011 (Issue 44) L. Kim Braa demonstrated how to create and embellish an apple and a menu chalk board using medium density fibreboard (MDF), chalkboard paint, and dimensional fabric paint.
While you can turn almost any silhouette into a chalkboard, Kim provided an additional crab pattern to get you started.
